I see DIStudio.exe in the latest update, but no shortcut for it in the start menu. Is it a bug?

No its not a bug.
We have added it recently to get debugger working for .mdg for ourselves mostly and for some advanced users.
Basics like import/export, Model Explorer and debugger are working, but we do not have time to finish it properly and it was not promised in 6.0.
So it is "as it is" unpublished functionality at the moment.
We plan to release it in 6.1.
We have actually planned to re-implement it using different technology, but this is delayed at least until 2020. In 6.1 it will be the same 3DDebugger with added .mdg support.
