Hi
We have started looking at a new 3D scanner which attaches to an iPad. We've found it creates VRML files which are compatible with KernelCAD, except the files store colour information within the VRML file and not as a separate JPG file.
As we expect to be using many of these scanners in the future we need support for the internal VRML colour table. We're still using Version 3.2 of KernelCAD. Would it be possible to add this it in version 3.2?
I've attached a sample VRML file for you to look at. The file includes a section defining RGB colours at the vertex points.
Kind regards
John

Re: Embedded color table in VRML
I'm very happy with the results for the VRML files with internal colour. It's as good as I could have hoped for. I notice with internal colour I get some nice lighting highlights on the 3D surface. I don't think this happens with texture maps.
