Object User Data
Every object in DG Kernel model keeps a user (application)-defined 64-bit
integer value and a variable length string. This data is called
Object User Data.
The integer is not used by the DG Kernel component itself. It is designed to store any
user/application defined value. Normally the number is used to link the object
to an external data in the application like object description. The Object User
Data can also be used to link the object to its data in
User Data Table.
The string is also used as Layer Name of the object
in calls to methods of ILayers
to show/hide objects with the same layer name. This is the only place, apart
from IUserData_DG.Get/SetLayerName,
where the component accesses the string in read-only manner.
The two properties can be accessed via
IUserData_DG interface.
