TwoD VB .NET Sample
TwoD Sample
Overview
Implementation
Model of the sample is constructed dynamically at runtime so the ModelPath
property of all KernelCAD controls are empty. Construction of the model is
performed by TwoDForm.Add3DObjects() Sub.
The Dim iSect As ISection =
iGenerator.Create(EObjectType.eObjTypeBRepSection) line creates a new BRep type
of object, which is added to the array of top-level objects of the model.
Faces of the BRep section are added using IDraw
interface queried from ISection
of the object. Notice that IDraw name here may be little misleading. No instant
drawing happens in this function. Instead the interface is used to define the
geometry.
The iView2.AddExternalModel(iMod) line in TwoDForm.AttachView() determines that the second control, from which
iView2 was queried will display objects from the first control. A
replica of the object is transferred inside the m_kernView.UpdateSurface()
call in the same function.
On start of the application mode of the second (view) control is set to 2D
with a call iView2.SetViewType(eViewType2D) in TwoDForm.Init(CKernelcadctrl1& kernCAD)
The two dimensional scene is generated by projecting the 3D object onto x and
y plane of the frame of
the 2D View. The frame is accessed in TwoDForm.Get2DView(CKernelcadctrl1& kernCAD) via queering IFrame
from context of the view.
Orientation of the frame and hence the side displayed in the 2D view is
manipulated in
TwoDForm.OnRotateUp() and following handlers on clicks of the
buttons in the bottom right corner.
The More > Direct 2D menu option opens DirectForm form from
TwoDForm.OnMoreDirect() handler. The major difference in definition
of the object geometry inside DirectForm.DefineGeometry(IView* iView)
is that IDraw
is queried from I2DView_KC
instead of ISection. It forces the shape to be
created as a standalone 2D item.
